New software options available

United Motorsport have recently developed new software options, these are available for all ME7 platforms (R32, 1.8T) with MED9 currently under development and will be available later this year. The following options are now available to customers as part of our bespoke software, all built to your requirements.

  • Launch control set points 

To add to our already popular launch control, we now offer the ability to change  at which point the ECU holds the RPM for launch.

Currently available for R32, 24v ME7 12v VR6 and ME7 1.8T.

As default the launch RPM is set to 3,000 RPM, This is then ‘definable’ by the driver. Launch RPM can be set anywhere from 3,000 RPM up to the natural rev. limiter (ie 7,200 RPM)

Our system with in the ECU’s software makes it possible for the ECU to hold the throttle body wide open, whilst using other methods to hold the desired launch RPM. On turbo cars this allows boost to build up. –  example: 1 Bar @ 4500RPM on an Audi TT 1.8t 225.

To engage the launch sequence: The vehicle must be at a stand still, the clutch pedal must be fully pressed and the throttle pedal fully pressed (WOT). The ECU now knows that you intend to launch, RPM is held at the desired point and the CEL begins to flash – Telling the driver than launch is engaged.

Note: Launch will not effect any other aspect of driving, it will never engage outside of the needed paramaters. Normal RPM limits will apply once launch has dis-engaged.

 

  • No lift shift

Our no lift shift software add on enables the driver to shift gear while holding the throttle pedal down. The software calculates that the driver wishes to change gear and  prevents the engine speed from increasing with out closing the throttle. This allows for a much faster gear change.

When using this on turbo charged engines, this allows the turbos to stay spooled and reduces ‘turbo lag’ during gear shifts.

Unlike any other No lift shift strategies, our software predicts the gear change time of the driver, and adjusts to suit the style of the driver and the situation.

 

  • Auto Blip

Heel and toe? No longer needed with our new Auto Blip feature.

Auto blip will automatically blip the throttle whilst the driver is braking and down shifting gears. This makes for a much improved and smoother gear change with out the need to try and operate 3 pedals simultaneously.

Auto blip will aid wear reduction in the transmission. As RPM’s are closer to matching, this reduces load on the synchromesh rings.

Currently available for R32, 24v ME7 12v VR6 and ME7 1.8T.
